Welcome to Little Blessings Child Care Center at Christ Church. We are licensed by the state of New Hampshire. We were the first Center in the state to achieve Licensed Plus status, a designation indicating our above-average service. We operate with a staff of twenty full time and three part time employees, many of whom hold a teacher credential from the state of New Hampshire as well as CPR and First Aid training and extensive training in adult and child sexual misconduct. We meet or exceed all state teacher/child ratios
We opened our facility in June 1992 and we are currently licensed to serve 71 children. We care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old and are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. We provide morning and afternoon snacks, breakfast and lunch. We provide one brand of baby formula and baby food. Our cook works with families whose children have allergies to provide nutritious alternatives to our main menu. We provide baby wipes. We do laundry on-site so that you do not have to take home blankets, sheets, bibs, etc. for laundering.
We are owned by Christ Episcopal Church and are guided by a committed Advisory Board, consisting of staff, parents, and church and community members. The Rector of Christ Church chairs the board and the Director of Little Blessings is a non-voting member. The Board establishes all child care policy.
Little Blessings is a multi-faith facility, honoring all faiths and celebrating diversity. We encourage the understanding of differences and openness to people of all backgrounds. We support awareness, diversity and tolerance.
Little Blessings Child Care Center operates on the developmental philosophy that all children grow and learn at their own individual pace, not according to a calendar. We recognize the importance of a child’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. We teach the children to respect others as well as themselves. We provide an environment where children can interact with other children as well as with adults. We provide an opportunity to experience the joys of friendship.
Learning is discovered more than taught, but the learning environment is created and fostered by the staff. We provide age appropriate games, activities, toys, and crafts to develop small and large motor skills; cognitive skills and thinking processes; social skills and self-esteem.
We begin by paying attention to the environment. It must be hazard-free, child proof, clean, provide enough space for large motor skills activity, and contain child-sized furniture. Our outdoor environment consists of fenced-in playgrounds, with age appropriate outdoor equipment, all surrounded by trees, grass and plants. We add staff members to that environment who are certified or in the process of certification in early childhood development. But far more importantly, each staff member must have an innate love of children. The staff members are aware that they are loving, and caring role models for the children.
The basic thinking process of the children is developed through sight, sound, smell, taste and touch. Opportunities to learn through all, not some, of the senses are provided every day.
We strive to make our Center a safe and fun learning environment where unconditional love is the underlying key.
I am so excited to be a part of the Little Blessings family! I have been in early childhood education for 15 years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Studies from Plymouth State University and I am currently working on my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in administration from Champlain College, which I will complete in May 2018. I have always known, even from a young age that I would be working with young children. As the director, I look forward to growing with Little Blessings as well as mentoring and supporting staff. I am the proud mom of 3 daughters Grace, Ava, and Olivia as well as 3 fur babies Harley, Manford, and Ruby. When I am not working I enjoy going to the beach, camping with my husband Bill, and cheering my girls on at their various activities! Thank you for making me a welcomed part of Little Blessings!
I have been working in the Christ Church building for the past 29 years, originally for a privately owned child care center until Little Blessing was founded in 1992. Even though my field of study was Elementary Education once I started teaching preschool I knew the younger children were the age I wanted to work with. I taught preschool for many years before I became the full time Assistant Director. Outside of work I enjoy reading, baking and spending time in Florida and at the lake house with my husband Robert and my daughter Kali (28).
Born May 15th 1971 in Ubon Thailand, to James & Lum daun George. I lived in many different states as a military brat.
I started Shoto Kan Karate and Muy Thai kickboxing at age 4 having attained high level blackbelt and master status. I also had the opportunity to study over 25 other styles of martial arts acheiving many black belts and degrees. I've taught Military Police(USA) and German Polezi(German Police) in high level combat techniques. I was a high level tournament competitor from the 80's to 2000. After 35yrs in the arts I 'semi-retired' from teaching.
My hobbies include hunting & fishing, working with leather and archery equipment and spending quality time with family. I'm happily married to Michelle "Calder" George, teacher at little Blessings daycare. She is my life partner and best friend. I am also a father to 3 boys, Raymond Frotten (age 19), Alexander George (age 12), and Monty, a Pom-Chi(pomeranian chiauha mix), he is my baby and my shadow.
I also enjoy working at L.B.D., watching the kids evolve day after day. Watching them learn new things and the excitement they show when they do something cool. Playing and interacting with them makes my day, plus it's always nice when they come and tell me they really liked something I made. That's always a plus in my book.
I have an extensive background in child care. I began my career in early childhood while in high school and began working in a center until they closed. I then came to Little Blessings starting as a multi room teacher and moving into a co-teacher position. I plan to continue my education in Early Childhood development working towards my associates degree.
I am a single mother of two living in Somersworth. I enjoy being with my children - going to parks, playing games and discovering new adventures together.
I have been a teacher at little Blessings for over 20 years during which I have taught in many classrooms throughout the center.. I have a certificate in Early Childhood Education from the College for Lifelong Learning and currently hold an Early Childhood Teacher Level 2 credential from the State of NH.
In 2010 I was awarded the Gwen and Henry Morgan Award in recognition of ten years of dedication of professional development and commitment to improving the quality of care and education in NH. I am also on the Advisory Board and the Joint Loss Management Committee for the center. I have attended the local preschool C.O.R.E. curriculum meetings and a Kindergarten readiness program presented by the state.
I am a proud mother of my 18 year old son who is a third degree black belt in Taekwondo. In our spare time we enjoy sightseeing in the NH White Mountains and camping. I also enjoyed gardening, reading and scrap-booking.
I have worked at Little Blessings since 1993. I have worked in just about every room. I have really enjoyed working with the infants. During my free time I enjoy reading, kayaking in the summer, watching the snow fall in the winter. I love sports, Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins. I have 2 children —one of each— and a granddaughter who is the light of my life.
I attended Spaulding High School in Rochester NH. I graduated in 2003. I was the class secretary of FCCLA (Future Career and Community Leaders of America) for two years. I was in my school band, chorus and the drama club. I hold my certificate in Early Childhood Education. I have worked at Little Blessings since February of 2007 and in the Early Toddler room since June of 2009. I live in Lebanon, Maine with my husband Robert and our dog Remington.
I have been in childcare for over 20 years. I have my associates degree in Early Childhood and some credit's towards a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I have been here since 2012. I have been married for 17 years, have 2 children ages 22 and 17. I am a soon to be grandmother for my son's baby boy. My future plans are to become an elementary school teacher.
During my high school years, I worked in the child care field. The exposure I had to teaching young children made me realize that I had found my dream career. But alas, life interrupted and took me into a different profession. Then five years ago, I re-evaluated my career in finance and decided to follow my long ago dreams to work with children.
Thus, I went back to school and recently completed my Early Childhood Education Advance Certificate from Great Bay Community College. I have also obtained my NH Early Childhood Teacher Level 4. I plan to continue my education by enrolling into a bachelor program for Early Childhood Development. After all these years, I have found myself loving my job. It is so rewarding to watch a child grow and develop emotionally, physically and cognitively.
I was born, raised and continue to live in the Seacoast NH area with one of my two children. My daughter is currently in high school and my son is a young adult, who is embarking on his own dreams. We spend time together by traveling and trying out new recipes. My family is rounded out by Jack, our very spunky cat.
I started working at Little Blessings in June of 2013. I am enrolled at Great Bay Community College. I will be graduating with my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I would like to continue my education in this field. I believe that I was meant to work with children. I enjoy seeing the new things they learn every day. I grew up in Portsmouth and have stayed in the area. I have recently gotten married and I am the proud mother of two teenage boys. I am very thankful for all the blessings I have been given in my life.
I have worked at Little Blessing since December 1994 and have enjoyed every minute of it. I have my credential from the State of NH as a Lead Teacher level one and hope to achieve a higher level in the future. In 2010, I was awarded the Gwen & Henry Morgan Award for 10 years of dedication and commitment to improving quality care and education in NH. I served two terms on the Advisory Board for Little Blessings.
I have one child, James and one grandson, Damien. He is two years old and stolen my heart. I really wasn't too keen on being a grandmother but WOW...what fun it has been. I also have a wonderful boyfriend, Paul and he has two boys Jake and Evan. We all have a lot of fun together. We are very busy camping, hiking and Kayaking. We love the outdoors.
I went to Elmira College as an undergraduate and graduated in 2007. Then I graduated from Wheelock College with a Masters degree in Educational Studies. I have been at Little Blessings since 2011. I really have enjoyed being a Multi-classroom teacher because the children teach me something new everyday. During my free time I teach preschoolers skiing at Sugarloaf Mountain. I started Skiing at the age of two and with the exception of few years I have been skiing every winter since. In the spring and summer time I play co-ed softball with two Portsmouth softball leagues.
